About The Role

The Data Engineer will focus on the practical application of data collection and analysis, primarily handling data produced and consumed by Hanover’s Core Commercial and Specialty businesses. You will design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems and develop ETL processes that ensure data quality and reliability.

This role will involve working closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, building data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Build data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
  • Implement and maintain data warehouse solutions.
  • Integratе data-related projects across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure services.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (U.S. Citizen or green card required).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships within teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with a drive to exceed standards of excellence.
  • Business acumen, understanding how your work contributes to organizational goals.
