About The Role
We are seeking a senior developer to join our dedicated team. As a Senior Developer, you will work closely with the Technical Director, Development, Content, and Creative teams to bring award-winning designs to life. You will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of various web projects, including building custom websites, creating WordPress themes and plugins, and ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. This role requires a combination of strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and excellent communication to ensure the delivery of high-quality, mission-driven websites for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior members of the development team to align the technical strategy with company goals.
- Assist in researching and establishing methodologies, frameworks, and technical strategies.
- Contribute to the business development process by representing the company on the technical side in proposals and pitches.
- Create custom-coded websites, primarily focusing on back-end theme creation and plugin development in WordPress and other open-source tools.
- Lead development on standalone web projects and provide support for ongoing client work.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and implement them efficiently.
- Provide training and education to clients on managing and maintaining the functionality of their websites.
- Conduct quality assurance and testing on deliverables to ensure they meet high standards.
- Serve as the lead technical point of contact for clients, managing updates, changes, and feature additions to existing projects.
- Collaborate with internal and external project teams to solve technical issues and deliver solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of back-end development experience, with a strong emphasis on WordPress development.
- Proficiency in coding from scratch and working with existing frameworks.
- Solid understanding of web development processes, including git, mobile-responsive design, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- A passion for creating web solutions that have a positive impact on mission-driven organizations.
- Bonus: Experience working in an agency or with nonprofit organizations is a plus.
