About You
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and tech-curious Technology Intern to support the development and evolution of DEFENDER™, our in-house security management platform. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on projects related to web app development, internal tooling, platform documentation, and technology strategy execution. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in product development, systems design, and operational tech—while being mentored directly by a senior technology leader.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the development and refinement of internal web applications, with a focus on usability, performance, and scalability
- Assist in evaluating new technologies and integrations relevant to DEFENDER’s roadmap (e.g., APIs, data visualization tools, AI enhancements)
- Document product features, workflows, and technical decisions to maintain internal knowledge and transparency
- Support the creation and upkeep of a DEFENDER product wiki, including platform diagrams and usage guides
- Participate in UI/UX reviews and provide input on frontend layouts, styling, and component behavior
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand needs and suggest digital solutions
- Help test features, gather feedback, and identify bugs or inconsistencies in the platform
- Join internal or client-facing meetings with the CTO to understand strategic priorities and gather context
- Prepare internal presentation materials, mockups, and technical summaries
- Organize and analyze platform usage data, feedback, and feature request trends
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Demonstrated interest in web application development
- Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML/CSS
- Interest in physical security systems, cybersecurity, or smart building technologies is a bonus
- Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment
- Ability to problem-solve, learn quickly, and adapt to changing project needs
