About the Role

Bowhead seeks a Junior Software Developer to support our customer on the WSOTS II contract located in Colorado Springs, CO. This role will provide direct software development support to the Consolidated SATCOM Systems Expert (C-SSE). The position involves both user-facing and backend development using technologies including PHP, Java, SQL, Visual Studio, VB, and VBA. The successful candidate will support initiatives hosted on the Wideband SATCOM Operations Management System Network (WSOMSNet), operating out of Building 3 on Peterson Space Force Base.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Wideband C-SSE in creating, developing, and maintaining tools, websites, and software hosted on WSOMSNet servers
• Coordinate development and deployment approvals with the C-SSE Configuration Change Board (CCB) and maintain configuration management of all developed tools
• Collaborate with government clients to identify process efficiencies and propose innovative solutions for work execution
• Participate in team-based problem solving and contribute ideas to address client challenges
• Conduct relevant research, perform data analysis, and generate technical reports
• Support coordination of client-initiated projects or special initiatives
• Develop and optimize cybersecurity tools and related technologies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minidum of two years of relevant software development experience
• Strong knowledge of scripting languages including VBScript, Java, and Linux VI
• Experience developing server-side and/or client-side applications using technologies such as PHP, Java, SQL, Visual Studio, VB, and VBA
• Familiarity with Wideband SATCOM systems and concepts is preferred
