Job Overview
CDM Smith is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Computational Designer to join our team. This role will focus on leveraging design automation and computational design techniques to drive innovation and efficiency within our AEC business lines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement design automation solutions using visual scripting tools such as Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Generative Components.
- Apply expert knowledge of AEC design automation/computational design principles.
- Utilize Python and C# to create custom tools and integrate with Autodesk Platform Services (APS) and other APIs.
- Contribute to DevOps practices, including GitHub, Azure, and/or other development infrastructure.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage complex or specialized projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of agile development processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in design automation and computational design.
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge and proven ability in the area of AEC design automation/computational design.
- Extensive experience with visual scripting tools like Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Generative Components.
- Inquisitive, with a desire to ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of business issues.
- Passionate about helping AEC business lines drive their success in using design technology and design automation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well with people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Ability to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic and diplomatic partner with our business units.
- Innovative and able to apply critical thinking skills to generate new solutions/ideas that create value and improve processes.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to lead and execute highly complex or specialized projects.
- Proficient in Python and C#, with experience using these languages to create custom tools and integrate with Autodesk Platform Services (APS) and other APIs.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices, GitHub, Azure, and/or other development infrastructure, along with knowledge of project management and agile development processes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range Minimum: $89,336
- Pay Range Maximum: $147,389
- All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
