Role: Data Engineer Rate: $60-$70/hour W2 Location: Remote Length: June 30, 2025

We are looking to procure a data engineer contractor. We are not looking for a programmer but someone that specializes in data activities. The data engineer would work with DLI’s Workers Compensation tool, Campus

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience analyzing OLTP systems at the table and column level
• With the ability to map data into existing Data Mart structures (not just conceptual—must be comfortable working directly with data)
• Prior government experience preferred
• Strong DBA skills, specifically with SQL Server on Azure
• Ability to create, update, and drop tables
• Experience working with various database structures, including relational and star schema (e.g., Data Mart for Campus)
• Ability to create and update SQL stored procedures
• Strong documentation skills for knowledge transfer and handoff, including:
  • Data Mart and relational database structure
  • Fact tables, dimension tables, and support tables
  • Flow of data to and within the Data Mart
  • Tools used for data loading and manipulation
  • Updating and setting up new data flows
  • DB/Data Mart performance tuning, including optimization tips
  • Proficiency with reporting tools such as SSRS and SSIS
