This is an exciting position as a Product Line Manager (Tennis Apparel) of a beloved brand that is known as one of the footwear industry’s most respected products. As a Product Line Manager, you will report to the VP of Performance Product and serve as an instrumental component of a vital team in the organization.

Job Description

The role will research and understand product range needs from the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, in terms of consumer target, distribution, price points, styles, and range size. The PLM will then determine how to service the different regional needs with the most efficient product line(s), trying to find opportunities to share and be efficient, but ultimately creating products that maximize each market’s potential. The PLM will create range plans and product design briefs, working with the apparel design and development resources in China to create brand-right products, that address the market needs across all three regions. The key to success for this position is the ability to balance vision and opportunity – that means leading and moving the tennis apparel market while also maximizing business at the trade level. Product creation requires a strong knowledge of line building, costing, and overall development of products. This means problem solving and hand-in-hand work with the design and development teams with a view towards making beautiful, high-quality tennis apparel

ORGANIZATION: This position will oversee all activities associated with:

  • Regional consumer and distribution research
  • Product briefing
  • Line planning & SKU management
  • Product lifecycle management
  • Ownership of the product creation calendar
  • Costing, pricing, and margin management
  • Merchandising, sales planning and forecasting
  • Aural and visual presentation

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Using top-down revenue guidance, build seasonal line plans and product strategies delivering products that adhere to each region’s market requirements.
  • Take a leadership role throughout the entire product process, from brief to GTM, to ensure that products and execution meet all business and merchandising requirements.
  • Enter and maintain accurate product brief data throughout the process in order to ensure smooth and efficient transfer of product information to design and development on the front-end and to sales and marketing on the back-end.
  • Analyze placed orders and forecasts in order to track metrics and KPI’S.
  • Support the sales organization by inspiring and guiding them throughout the process to ensure maximum trade impact.
  • Set and manage the overall product creation schedule, for multiple seasons simultaneously, and drive the wider product team to adhere to the schedule and hit critical timelines.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a product leader with a track record in driving product creation within the athletic or lifestyle apparel industry. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards, ready to build a product collection and be part of a dynamic team committed to a brand turnaround.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a product manager or merchandiser within an apparel company.
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Process driven, able to manage and hit deadlines.
  • Analytical skills to turn financial input into product line architecture.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Self-motivated – energetic.
