Job Description

Danfoss is seeking a Sr. Data Center Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions for data center cooling and energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cooling systems for large-scale data centers, considering air and liquid-cooled solutions.
• Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to optimize system performance.
• Select and evaluate components, including chillers, pumps, fans, and heat exchangers.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and marketing.
• Support the testing and validation of new products.
• Stay current with the latest trends and challenges in data center thermal management.

Skills

• Proficiency in system design and architecture, with a focus on thermal management.
• Ability to select, design, and calculate components for air and liquid-cooled systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work with complex systems and infrastructures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with customers and translate their needs into technical specifications.
• Ability to innovate and convert these innovations into patents.
• Experience in IP protection would be beneficial.
• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to work closely with customers to understand and fulfill their needs.
• Experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data center cooling design and analysis.
• Experience with large-scale data centers would be a plus.
• Familiarity with the latest trends and challenges in data center thermal management.
• Expertise in working with both air and liquid-cooled systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience in IP protection would be beneficial.

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. The range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000.
